Welcome to Los Altos

This peaceful community provides respite in the middle of Silicon Valley

Los Altos is located in Santa Clara County and lives up to the Spanish origins of its name meaning “The Heights”. Just 40 miles south of San Francisco, the city is home to high-end residential areas with breathtaking mountain views. If luxury is what you’re looking for, you’ll find it in Los Altos. The tree-lined streets and quiet atmosphere make it a great place to call home, whether in a single-family home, condominium, or townhome. While the city is mostly residential, there are a number of retail areas to do your shopping and dining. Its smaller scale downtown is a walkable six-block triangle featuring anything from top-notch restaurants to a hardware store.

Los Altos oozes with cool California vibes while maintaining a quaint village atmosphere. There are a few weekly Farmers Markets held downtown April through October with a large selection of locally grown produce, food, and live music. If hiking is your thing, there are a wide variety of trails from moderate to more difficult with scenic views for all ages. The Los Altos History Museum makes local history come alive with excellent displays and interactive programs offered free to the public.
